Solutionspace is a platform for connecting people with the resources to turn their ideas into reality.

Venture Concept Overview

Value Proposition

Solutionspace is a platform that empowers entrepreneurs by connecting people with the resources and tools to discover an opportunity, develop the idea and grow it into a business.

Through sharing experiences with several people involved in startups, we’ve found a market gap in automating processes in building startups and businesses. The vision of Solutionspace is to facilitate all the many complex steps into one unified platform.

By using Solutionspace, teams will have access to a collection of integrated communication, productivity and management tools that simplify the process of developing a startup.

Target Market

Our target customer base is people who have new potential startup or business ideas, but lack the resources to get started with implementing them.

There are several reasons for situations like this, including difficulties forming a team that shares similar interests, not having the skills and expertise to implement the ideas, and the several challenges around integrating several different resources into one consistent customer experience.

From talking to a number of IACT participants, Entry29 members, and others who are interested, we’ve found people who have expressed a need for a platform that provides tools for building and managing a startup.

“Wow, this looks really good. I think there’s a lot of potential in what you’ve got so far.”

– Keerth, Early Access Customer

“I think it’s an interesting idea, I’m quite keen on paying for the early access to your platform.”

– Gary, Early Access Customer

“I want something to help me find the people to work with to build some of my project ideas. The proficiency in the platform so far looks very promising.”

– Harry, Early Access Customer

Future Opportunities

Beyond the initial industries of Technology, Online Communication and Commerce, we have plans to expand into Marketing, Education and Finance. These will be supported by rapid website and app development features, along with integrations and automation.

While developing the user base in Australia, we will seek feedback and use social media marketing strategies to increase growth. English-speaking countries outside Australia will be the next area of expansion, followed by non-English speaking countries including those in Asia.

Current State

Over the past few months, we’ve been developing the technology to provide these services. We have built an exciting prototype that already includes several core features such as a news feed, discussion board and event calendar.

Our plan for the next few months is to open the platform to an exclusive community of early access users, and make improvements from user feedback.

After a series of expansions, account creation will become open to the public.

Funding Sought

We are seeking between $7,500 and $10,000 from the Innovation ACT seed pool. Funds will be spent with 60% going towards engineering, 30% on marketing and 10% on operations. Engineering will be building the foundation stacks and internship rates. Marketing will be building presences in startup communities such as universities, co-working spaces and accelerators. Operational costs will be incorporation and business tools.

The Idea

Our project aims to reduce the amount of time it takes to create and implement a startup. Our solution involves simplifying the process of building new startup software, connecting people with mentors and other entrepreneurs to collaborate with, and providing resources to help startups grow.

The Market

Our target customer base is people who have new potential startup or business ideas, but lack the resources to get started with implementing their ideas immediately.

There are several pains leading to situations like this, including difficulties forming a team that shares similar interests, not having all the skills and expertise to implement the idea, and the challenges around integrating several different resources into one consistent customer experience.

We’re creating a unified collection of products and services to help make it easier to organize a team, develop an idea, and learn from past examples so that anyone can get started on developing a startup immediately.

The Competition

There are a number competitors in the customer segment we’re aiming to support, including both free and paid services. Some of the free services such as Trello, Facebook Pages and Slack have a free tier with a pricing advantage; however, startups making use of them need to manage their own integrations to make the most of them. Paid services also exist, such as JIRA, Asana, Basecamp; however, these services don’t provide sufficient convenience in custom integrations or interactivity that could bring them closer to automating the work they are designed to manage.

Our team is developing a solution that will focus on providing more interactive and real-time tools and services, and more efficient ways for customers to create new integrations and automation.

The Vision

Solutionspace began to take shape after noticing that a lot of the steps involved in building technology for startups are repeated and could be improved by having the most used patterns and activities combined together and conveniently packaged for new startups to experiment with and expand from.

With this in mind, there is a huge potential for growth in supporting new startups in various industries including Technology, Services and Commerce. Through features that will allow people to quickly build apps, websites, integrations and automation without requiring prior development experience, we hope to see more people getting involved in new entrepreneurial ventures, and innovating in existing industries.

The initial market for Solutionspace is entrepreneurs who have an idea for a startup and need a platform built as part of their idea. Beyond this market, we plan to introduce an online startup boot camp that engages people in activities to take them through the journey of finding an opportunity, and developing it into a business.

Solutionspace is built on distributed technology infrastructure that allows it to easily scale at every stage of its development to any number of users in any geographical location. Solutionspace will initially go through a series of exclusive pilots in the ACT in order to gather feedback from initial pilot users. After a series of expansions and releases, account creation on Solutionspace will become open to the public. While developing the user base in Australia, we will be responsive to feedback and requests and use social media marketing strategies to increase growth. English-speaking countries outside Australia will be the next area of expansion, followed by non-English speaking countries including those in Asia.

Some initial industries that Solutionspace can be useful for include Technology, Online Communications, and Commerce. These will be supported by features that allow rapid website and app development, along with integrations and automation. Beyond these industries, we have plans to expand into other industries including Marketing & Advertising, Education and Finance.

Our team has been iterating on prototypes to make use of modern development frameworks and design patterns that allow the platform to integrate different data structures together in a way that scales. The platform is built on Google’s App Engine platform which provides a host of services that are designed to be scalable to any size. The communication features the team has already developed such as live chat, news feeds and discussion boards show that there is currently an under-developed opportunity in providing highly connected real-time interactivity between different data sources, as opposed to static and isolated content. This is one of the unique benefits that Solutionspace provides to enhance team productivity.

Our Partners

We are looking for multiple types of supporters and collaborators to work with on advertising and providing team communication and productivity tools to.

We also want to work with people involved in startups to gather more feedback on some advertising skills to attract potential customers. We also need broader networks in the industry to help us grow our project.
